My mother married a citizen. In 2006, my mother passed her naturalization interview and became a citizen. My brother automatically became a citizen because he was under the age of 18. Back then, we had a lawyer named Thomas who did all the paperwork for us but for some reason he screwed up our I-130 form. When I passed my interview, the USCIS lady stopped us from taking the oath because they want I-130 form.
We went to talk to a few lawyers and some refused or hesitated to accept our case. Some didn’t seem to have the knowledge of the case. Isabel was the last person on our search list and I knew that she was the one when I went in to see her. After 2.5 years, my sister and I became citizen.

I went to Isabel Machado for assistance with my Green Card application, as I had newly arrived in the States after marrying my American wife. I had looked at submitting the application myself but I found it extremely confusing and did not want to make any mistakes, which would have been very easy to do. So I decided to go to an expert for help, and it was undoubtedly the best decision I could have made. Isabel and her husband Amadeus (who is the office manager) were the up-most professionals, clearly very experienced and a pleasure to work with. Right from the start she was up front about the likelihood of our application being accepted (which thankfully she thought we had a strong case) and gave us the best advice on what we kind of visa we should be applying for. She is not the kind of attorney to take on a case that she does not believe will be successful (therefore wasting everyone’s time and money), which I highly respect and appreciate.
We were given clear tasks to perform in order to build the strongest case, we had regular meetings when necessary and she was with us every step of the way. Her experience and knowledge gave us such confidence in our application, when we perhaps a little apprehensive. Prior to the big bad interview she performed a little mock interview with us to ensure everything would go smoothly and was even there on the day, which we both appreciated hugely. She came to the immigration office and sat in with us during the interview, which took all of our nerves away. She even knew all the immigration officers by name (and the seemed to like her), which I think says a lot.
The whole process of our green card, I’m sure it might be different for others, took about 5 months, but that is because the US immigration department messed up a whole load of applications so there were delays. In terms of price we are extremely happy with the fees that we paid as we had looked at other immigration lawyers and Isabel’s were a lot better and as I said, we could not have been happier with her services! It didn’t apply to us but she is also bi-lingual too if required!
